Take a deep breath

Shreveport's got a new place to check out and it smells delicious.

I've heard of oxygen bars in other cities, but I had no idea Shreveport was getting a spot like this. At the Oxygen Bar at Eldorado Resort Casino you can get a 15 minute session and a free energy drink for $10.

There are 16 flavors to choose from, including:
  • Allure (Jasmine)
  • Blackberry Vanilla
  • Bliss (Hawaiian Ginger, Bergamot)
  • Calming (Lavender, Tangerine)
  • Chocolate Covered Cherries
  • Coconut Limon (Coconut and Lime)
  • Freesia
  • Lavender Lemongrass
  • Relax (Juniper Berry)
  • Revitalizing (Bayberry)
  • Serenity (Lavender, Balsam Fir Needles)
  • Sex on the Beach (Assorted Fruit Flavors)
  • Shower With Me (So Clean)
  • Sugar Cookie
  • Zen (Rosemary & Mint)
  • Pina Colada (Pineapple and Coconut)

Visitors inhale oxygen through a cannula inserted into the nostrils and the benefits are impressive. The oxygen is said to heighten concentration, alertness and memory, strengthen the heart, calm the mind, improve sleep patterns and more.

The Oxygen Bar is open for 10 to 12 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday.

People sitting at these things look like total idiots with the tubes stuck in their nostrils. I've seen them at all ages places and they're just swarming with 15 year old kids thinking they'll get high. Nonetheless, congratulations to Shreveport for moving on up in the world.

Yeah, that's the part I can't get over. I think I'd feel pretty stupid sitting at a bar with tubes coming out my nose. But, in the spirit of trying something new, you can count on a story soon.

Can we also count on pictures?

Make sure you ask what they are using for those "flavors." If they are using oils, it could possibly lead to real problems for your lungs if some of the oil droplets come through and get inhaled. Also, I sure hope they use new cannulas for each user.

What are these flavors for? The energy drinks or what? I could just be that dumb... (most likely).

Kate, the air is flavored.

Sammy, pictures of me with tubes up my nose ... absolutely!

Mindy, the old thing scares me a little bit. That sounds painful.
